Divine rope

Today I choose not to be a victim of negativity

If I squander an hour, I don’t need to waste the next

If I miss one battle, I can still flex for the next

If I don’t win, I can still be ‘my’ best

If I’m not chosen for the team

I can form my own squad

And use it as motivation to soar above the crowd

I may choose my words carefully

But it doesn’t assure their efficacy

For words are imperfect tools to transmit heart and mind

I believe I have a purpose to play in a world that can seem decayed

Through adversity, I have sensed great hope

And I know that I’ll never be let down if I hold on to the Divine rope
